Some newly shared photos of Henry Cavill<\/a>\u2019s Superman<\/a><\/strong> and Joe Manganiello<\/a>\u2018s Deathstroke<\/a> has Zack Snyder<\/a> fans excited.<\/p>\n

Snyder and Warner Bros. Pictures<\/a>\u2019 Man of Steel<\/a> was released in 2013 and kicked off the DC Extended Universe. Following that, Snyder went on to direct 2016\u2019s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice<\/a> and 2017\u2019s Justice League<\/a>. Behind-the-scenes matters on the latter film resulted in the release of Zack Snyder\u2019s Justice League<\/a> in 2021.<\/p>\n

The DCEU<\/a> officially ended in 2023 with Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Since then, James Gunn and Peter Safran have started the DCU<\/a>, a new shared universe featuring DC<\/a> characters, that began with Creature Commandos.<\/p>\n

What Superman and Deathstroke pictures did Zack Snyder share?<\/p>\n

On Instagram<\/a>, Snyder first shared a picture of Cavill as Kal-El with the caption, \u201cHenry Cavill is Superman. From BvS shot with my monochrome 50mm Noctilux. 3 weeks on Instagram thanks to everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also shared<\/a> a picture of Manganiello\u2019s Slade Wilson\/Deathstroke, who only appeared as an uncredited cameo in both versions of Justice League. The captain for that post reads, \u201cThis I shot with my Leica monochrome and my modified 50mm dream lens by @zerooptik thank you @joemanganiello for being a perfect Deathstroke.\u201d<\/p>\n

In response to the posts, many Snyderverse fans are retiring their desire to see the DCEU continue in some way (more specifically, some have wanted Warner Bros. to sell the Snyderverse rights to Netflix so it can continue on the streaming platform), though no formal plans to do so have been announced by Warner Bros. at this time.<\/p>\n

Snyder is now working on a drama movie called The Last Photograph, which will follow an ex-DEA operative who returns to South America to try and find his missing niece. The screenplay for the movie comes from Kurt Johnstad, who worked with Snyder on 300 and both of the Rebel Moon films. A release date for The Last Photograph has not yet been announced.<\/p>\n

Up next for the DCU, meanwhile, is seemingly Lanterns, as that is expected to premiere at some point in 2026, though a firm release date has not yet been announced. Supergirl and Clayface will also both be released in 2026.<\/p>\n
