Kate Ritchie<\/a> has shared a ‘near-death’ experience with a crocodile while the radio star was holidaying at a Queensland resort over the weekend.<\/p>\n

The former Home and Away<\/a> star posted a photo of herself wearing a one-piece swimsuit while looking out over the deck of the Sheraton Mirage in Port Douglas, along with a large red arrow pointing to the pool.<\/p>\n

A second image showed a crocodile lurking in the sun at the bottom of the hotel’s lagoon-style pool.<\/p>\n

‘Kate\u2019s \u201cnear-death\u201d encounter with a Crocodile,’ she wrote in the caption, crediting TikTok<\/a> user Lisa Keller with the photo of the creature.<\/p>\n

Keller filmed the incident over the weekend during her holiday in Far North Queensland<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Kate’s followers appeared to be amused by the star’s cheeky post about the reptile.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘Can\u2019t even trust a pool for a swim,’ commented one follower, while another added, ‘Haha near death, as if. It’s bloody tiny.’<\/p>\n

A third joked: ‘The paparazzi are getting clever with their disguises!!’<\/p>\n

Keller made headlines when she shared the close encounter with the croc to her TikTok page on Saturday.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘I don’t want to alarm anyone, but there is a crocodile in the Sheraton pool,’ she said in the video.<\/p>\n

In a second video uploaded shortly afterwards, Keller showed nonchalant guests around the pool who continued sunbaking on lounge chairs.<\/p>\n

Staff warned guests to avoid swimming in the pool for the time being as the reptile had yet to be removed.\u00a0<\/p>\n

One of them told Keller they were trying to work out the best way to relocate the crocodile.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Social media users were aghast at the shocking situation, but many chose to joke about how the saltwater creature was enjoying the chlorinated pool.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘That\u2019s a Chlorine Croc, they are harmless,’ one man said.<\/p>\n

‘Why is the water spicy – the croc probably,’ a woman wrote.<\/p>\n

‘He\u2019s on vacay,’ a third person said.<\/p>\n

‘When I was a little girl, I used to have an irrational fear of crocodiles getting in pools, and now you’re telling me 20 years later, it’s completely rational,’ a fourth said.<\/p>\n

The Sheraton Mirage is a four-star hotel with the cheapest rooms starting at $400 a night, while its most expensive rooms reach up to $1,900 per night.<\/p>\n

In Far North Queensland, crocodiles getting into pools<\/a> is not unheard of.<\/p>\n

After Cyclone Jasper ripped through the region in 2023, another crocodile was found in one family’s backyard pool.<\/a><\/p>\n

Wildlife experts have warned anyone who comes across such a scene to practice extreme caution, however as the predators still pose a risk.<\/p>\n

When contacted by Daily Mail, the Sheraton Mirage confirmed the incident occurred but would not provide any comments.<\/p>\n
