My nan was always a very imaginative lady, and my nan would lie to me. She\u2019d put me in a foot bath and lie to me and said that Rod Stewart was my grandfather for, like, my formative years,\u201d Yungblud said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo up to about nine years old, I thought Rod Stewart was my grandad. CREDIT: Tom Pallant<\/p>\n<p>He went on: \u201cIt was like proper quivering lip, like, \u2018Nan, when\u2019s granddad coming home?\u2019 And everyone at the checkout started laughing, started laughing at us, knowing that they caught my grandmother in a blatant lie! And that was the day I found out Rod Stewart was not in fact my grandfather.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This time, Yungblud also revealed that Stewart has since been in touch with him on Instagram.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe says, \u2018Alright my wee grandson!\u2019 And I was like, \u2018Rod Stewart, man. He\u2019s got the bants!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere, Dom Harrison recently got into a spat with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/the-darkness\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Darkness\u2019<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/justin-hawkins\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Justin Hawkins<\/a> and Dan Hawkins.<\/p>\n<p>The fracas began after the band\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/the-darkness-dan-hawkins-hits-out-at-yungblud-and-aerosmith-members-vmas-tribute-what-a-bunch-of-bellends-3890888\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">guitarist called Yungblud\u2019s performance<\/a> paying tribute to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/ozzy-osbourne\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ozzy Osbourne<\/a> with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/mtv-vmas-2025-watch-yungblud-aerosmiths-steven-tyler-and-joe-perry-honour-ozzy-osbourne-3890685\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, and Extreme\u2019s Nuno Bettencourt<\/a>\u00a0at the MTV VMAs \u201canother nail in the coffin of rock n roll\u201d.
