Yellow text over the image reads, &quot;I'm NOT Everything I Want To Be.\" width=\"800\" height=\"420\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-821366\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/10\/im-not-everything-i-want-to-be-acquisition-and-trailer-1236591778\/\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"follow external noopener nofollow\">Deadline reports<\/a> that the film has already won two awards at the Czech Lions awards ceremony, and also won prizes at the Torino Film Festival in Italy and the Festival du Nouveau Cin\u00e9ma in Montreal. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThrough a dynamic montage of still images, layered sound design, contemporary music, and Jarcovj\u00e1kov\u00e1\u2019s own voice drawn from her diaries, the film delivers a wild, intimate, and deeply political cinematic experience,\u201d Ryan Krivoshey of Grasshopper Film, the company distributing the film, tells Deadline. \u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to share it with audiences.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m Not Everything I Want to Be has been officially selected by the Czech Republic as its entry for Best International Film at the Academy Awards. <\/p>\n<p>Jarcovj\u00e1kov\u00e1 photographed nightlife in Prague and West Berlin in the 1970s and 1980s, often focusing on minority groups. Her work is hedonistic and stands in contrast with the Soviet Union, which was institutionally homophobic. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am a photographer and a teacher of photography,\u201d Jarcovj\u00e1kov\u00e1 writes on her website. \u201cAs I pass through various landscapes, wondrous strange images emerge.
