Selena Gomez<\/strong><\/a> bit back at Hailey Bieber<\/strong><\/a> in a now-deleted social media post \u2014 and an insider tells Star that some people are blaming Justin Bieber<\/strong><\/a> for stirring up a storm behind the scenes and getting a sick thrill out of pitting the two women against each other.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese two have gone through so many ups and downs, they actually have a lot of friends in common and there have been times they genuinely seemed to have buried the hatchet,\u201d the insider says. \u201cBut then it will all flare up again and most people are pointing the finger at Justin. He\u2019s the one that always seems to stir the pot first.\u201d<\/p>\n

The insider points out that when \u201cSelena married Benny<\/strong> [Blanco<\/strong>]<\/a> last month, Justin posted the wedding song he wrote for Hailey (\u2018I Do\u2019) to his Instagram the same day\u201d and that \u201cit was totally out of nowhere.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOf course, it got everyone talking about him,\u201d the insider continues. \u201cSelena tries her best to ignore it all, but when Hailey went out of her way to say she \u2018doesn\u2019t feel competitive with people she\u2019s not inspired by\u2019 [in her recent WSJ Magazine interview] it got Selena\u2019s attention.\u201d<\/p>\n

The insider adds that Hailey\u2019s comments \u201churt\u201d the Only Murders in the Building star, 33, and \u201cshe couldn\u2019t help but respond.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019s tired of the digs and the pettiness and Benny is sick of it too,\u201d the insider explains. \u201cHe\u2019s very protective of Selena and he 100 percent blames Justin for trying to stir up trouble.\u201d<\/p>\n

The latest flare-up in the longtime tension between Gomez and Hailey, 28, kicked off earlier this month after Hailey made comments in a WSJ Magazine<\/a> story published on October 14 about not feeling \u201ccompetitive with people I\u2019m not inspired by.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fans immediately took it as a swipe at Gomez \u2014 whose Rare Beauty line rivals Hailey\u2019s Rhode<\/a> \u2014 especially since the remark came just weeks after Selena\u2019s wedding to Blanco, 37.<\/p>\n

According to People<\/a>, the newlywed fired back with a now-deleted Instagram Story urging everyone to \u201cbe kind\u201d but also calling the situation \u201cabout relevance, not intelligence,\u201d reigniting their years-long feud and dragging Justin, 31, back into the drama.<\/p>\n
