\n\tLouis Tomlinson<\/a> had some choice words for Logan Paul in a recent interview, with the former One Direction star saying he\u2019ll \u201cforever despise\u201d the YouTuber for the way he handled an interview with late bandmate Liam Payne<\/a> in 2022.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn a profile for The Independent<\/a> published over the weekend, Tomlinson didn\u2019t hold back when asked about the controversial episode of Paul\u2019s Impaulsive podcast that featured Payne \u2014 who appeared to be drinking whiskey throughout the conversation \u2014 speaking negatively of his boy-band days and shading his former bandmates. \u201cI f\u2014ing forever despise [Logan Paul]. Horrible, horrible little f\u2014er,\u201d he said of the social media star.<\/p>\n

\n\t \u201cI think that\u2019s also the problem with some of this new \u2018media,’\u201d he continued. \u201cI would like to think most journalists \u2014 some journalists have a duty of care.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tThough Tomlinson didn\u2019t go into specifics about his issues with Paul\u2019s interview, the singer did say that he was bothered by fan backlash to Payne saying on Impaulsive that he had been the designated leader of 1D. \u201cIt was definitely a role that was assigned to him,\u201d he told the publication. \u201cThat is the truth.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe interview comes just over a year after Payne \u2014 who was open about his struggles with substance abuse \u2014 died in a fall from the balcony of his fourth-floor hotel room in Argentina. Toxicology reports later found that he\u2019d had dangerous amounts of alcohol in his system at the time of the accident.<\/p>\n

\n\tTwo years prior, Payne set the 1D fandom ablaze with his appearance on Impaulsive<\/a>, during which he also said that he and Tomlinson had \u201chated\u201d one another during their time in the band. \u201cLouis was wild, and he wanted to be wild, and that\u2019s his spirit,\u201d Payne told Paul at the time. \u201cAlso he\u2019s my best mate now, but in the band, we hated each other.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBut while speaking to The Independent, Tomlinson had nothing but kind words for his late friend, whose death he says has \u201cdefinitely\u201d brought the surviving members of 1D closer together. \u201cYeah, and the best kind of friends are the ones where, when you eventually do meet up, it\u2019s like no time has passed,\u201d he told the publication. \u201cIt\u2019s also just amazing to see everyone doing so well in their own right.\u201d<\/p>\n
