Dunnes Stores has pulled a popular children’s product from sale amid safety fears. An urgent recall<\/a> has been issued for its 2 Pack Baby Boys and Girls Mittens after it was found they could pose a risk of injury.<\/p>\n

Safety officials have warned that long threads from the mittens could wrap around a baby’s finger, potentially causing swelling or loss of movement.<\/p>\n

The \u20ac2 mittens were sold both in stores and online, with around 4,100 of them purchased across Ireland.<\/p>\n

In a statement this afternoon, the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission said: “Dunnes Stores<\/a> Unlimited Company is carrying out a recall of 2 Pack Baby Boys and Girls Mittens. The risk presented by the product is injuries. While wearing the product, long threads from the product may wrap around the baby\u2019s finger causing swelling and a lack of function.”<\/p>\n
