Protesters have thrown masonry, flares, glass bottles and wooden planks at members of An Garda S\u00edoch\u00e1na<\/a> near a Dublin<\/a> hotel for the second consecutive night.<\/p>\n

Garda\u00ed are attempting to disperse the crowd from the area outside the Citywest<\/a> Hotel in Saggart.<\/p>\n

A mounted garda unit and a dog unit are at the scene, along with the public order unit and a helicopter providing air support.<\/p>\n

Stones and fireworks have also been thrown at garda\u00ed. Hundreds of protesters gathered near the entrance of the hotel which is used to house asylum seekers.<\/p>\n

It is the secondnight of demonstrations at the hotel following an alleged sexual assault on a 10-year-old girl in the vicinity of the hotel in the early hours of Monday morning.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Garda Commissioner Justin Kelly said there will be a \u201crobust response\u201d to any continued disorder following a night of violence<\/a> on Tuesday..<\/p>\n

Mr Kelly said a further gathering outside the hotel had been proposed on social media. <\/p>\n

A number of public transport services to the area have been suspended again including the Luas red line between Belgard and Saggart and the number 69 Dublin Bus.<\/p>\n

Police were attacked with missiles and fireworks after violence flared outside the hotel on Tuesday night. A Garda vehicle was also set on fire during the unrest.<\/p>\n

A woman Garda member injured during the violence has since been discharged from hospital. <\/p>\n

Mr Kelly, who visited the scene earlier on Wednesday in the aftermath of the initial violence, told reporters on Wednesday he is \u201cdetermined\u201d that further people will be \u201cbrought before the courts to face justice\u201d.<\/p>\n

He said the disorder on Tuesday night was not a peaceful protest. <\/p>\n

\u201cI can promise that we will have a robust response again to any further disorder.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nearly 300 members of An Garda S\u00edoch\u00e1na were on duty in response to the disorder.<\/p>\n

This included more than 125 uniformed garda\u00ed, 150 members of the public order unit and a water cannon, which was not ultimately used. Mounted and dog units also attended, supported by members in the air support unit.<\/p>\n

A senior investigating officer has been appointed to probe the incident.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday morning, shattered glass, a torn-down public bin and piles of bricks lay strewn across Garter Lane outside the centre.<\/p>\n

A few metres away, the Garda van set alight by a mob the night before<\/a> was being removed by a tow truck. <\/p>\n

The disorder on Tuesday night involved up to 1,000 people, with six arrested following the disturbances.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday afternoon, Taoiseach Miche\u00e1l Martin praised garda\u00ed for their \u201cbravery, courage and professionalism\u201d in dealing with the riot in Citywest on Tuesday night.<\/p>\n

Mr Martin said in the D\u00e1il, garda\u00ed \u201ccome from our community and are there to protect us all\u201d.
