{"id":139268,"date":"2025-10-22T23:02:12","date_gmt":"2025-10-22T23:02:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/139268\/"},"modified":"2025-10-22T23:02:12","modified_gmt":"2025-10-22T23:02:12","slug":"viable-pipe-bomb-found-following-car-pursuit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/139268\/","title":{"rendered":"Viable pipe bomb found following car pursuit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A viable <strong>pipe bomb<\/strong> has been found following a security alert in <strong>Co Armagh<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Two men have been arrested after a car was brought to a halt in Keady on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Detective Inspector Danielle Moffett said: \u201cThe viable pipe bomb was located by police in the rear of a car which had made off from officers in Lurgan early this morning, Wednesday 22nd October.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt around 1.15am a white Toyota Land Cruiser was noted in the Lough Road area and checks of police systems revealed the vehicle had no insurance.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen signalled to stop by police, the vehicle made off.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAn authorised pursuit was commenced and the car was subsequently stopped with the deployment of a stinger device in Keady, after travelling a considerable distance at speed.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"not-prose\"><p>\n    All roads in the area have now reopened and the arrested men remain in police custody<\/p>\n<p>            Detective Inspector Danielle Moffett\n    <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The occupants of the vehicle, two men aged 22 and 37, were arrested and a search of the car revealed the pipe bomb device.<\/p>\n<p>It was examined by police and Ammunition Technical Officers and has been made safe.<\/p>\n<p>Ms Moffett added: \u201cAll roads in the area have now reopened and the arrested men remain in police custody.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur investigation is ongoing, and we would appeal to anyone with information to contact us on 101, quoting reference 67 22\/10\/25.\u00a0You can also report online at www.psni.police.uk\/makeareport.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlternatively, information can be provided to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A viable pipe bomb has been found following a security alert in Co Armagh.
