It won\u2019t be. It\u2019ll be near it but not touching it \u2014 and pays total respect to the existing building, which I\u2019m the biggest fan of. It\u2019s my favourite. It\u2019s my favourite place. I love it,\u201d Trump said in July.<\/p>\n<p class=\"responsive__Paragraph-sc-1pktst5-0 gaEeqC\">\u2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/link.thetimes.co.uk\/join\/74t\/signup-us?source=WebsiteArticle\" class=\"link__RespLink-sc-1ocvixa-0 csWvlP\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><b>Sign up for The Times\u2019s weekly US newsletter<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"responsive__Paragraph-sc-1pktst5-0 gaEeqC\">However, on Monday pictures emerged of the outer fa\u00e7ade of the wing being torn down. It\u2019s about DOLLARS 300 million.\u201d He said it would be funded \u201c100 per cent by me and some friends of mine, donors\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"responsive__Paragraph-sc-1pktst5-0 gaEeqC\">When asked about a lack of transparency concerning the plans, Trump called the journalist a \u201cthird-rate reporter\u201d and said he had shown the plans \u201cto everybody that would listen\u2026. It\u2019s gotten really great reviews.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"responsive__Paragraph-sc-1pktst5-0 gaEeqC\">The White House also separately released a statement attacking the \u201cmanufactured outrage\u201d of those criticising the ballroom and detailing renovations undertaken by previous presidents.<\/p>\n<p class=\"responsive__Paragraph-sc-1pktst5-0 gaEeqC\">The president said on Monday that the space would be capable of holding 999 people.
