The 14 winners, who each receive $25,000, will be announced Nov. 6.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-article-body__text text-pr-5\">The non-fiction finalists include Claire Cameron\u2019s How to Survive a Bear Attack, Teresa Wong\u2019s All Our Ordinary Stories: A Multigenerational Family Odyssey, and The Migrant Rain Falls in Reverse: A Memoir by Vinh Nguyen.<\/p>\n<p><a style=\"display:block\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/resizer\/v2\/FUUU6IQF3BBEBAH7IG2ICMURYM.jpg?auth=6cb13f6bdfceb9e65300787750299f38ede00c82e8b7f7ad44c54022028f09a9&amp;width=600&amp;height=400&amp;quality=80&amp;smart=true\" aria-haspopup=\"true\" data-photo-viewer-index=\"2\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Open this photo in gallery:<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"figcap-text\">Author Fawn ParkerPenguin Randomhouse<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-article-body__text text-pr-5\">Also in contention are What to Feel, How to Feel by Shane Neilson and Searching for Serafim: The Life and Legacy of Serafim \u2019Joe\u2019 Fortes by Ruby Smith Diaz.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-article-body__text text-pr-5\">The Governor General\u2019s Literary Awards will also dole out honours for drama, writing and illustration in children\u2019s literature, as well as French-to-English translation.
