However, director Andy Muschietti gave an update on DCU’s Batman: Brave and the Bold, starring Bruce Wayne as Batman and his son Damien as Robin, during press for It: Welcome to Derry. What he hasn’t clarified, however, is what will make this entire situation less confusing, given we will have two active Batmen at the box office.

Although things are very tight-lipped around the project, Muschietti’s sister and Welcome to Derry co-creator Barbera did confirm that his upcoming Batman installment is still on the way. “The intention is yes, but we can’t talk about it,” Barbara said about the film. Andy followed up with, “We have to wait a few, a couple of months to start talking about it.”

Of course, talking about not talking about it is the same thing as talking about it, which Muschietti quickly realized, saying, “I screwed it already.”

Muchetti, who previously directed The Flash (2023), knows how tight-lipped superhero projects can be. When it comes to Batman, though, keeping things under wraps seems more intense. A couple of years back, Gunn offered a brief synopsis of the film, calling it the “introduction of the DCU’s Batman” in its Marvel Cinematic Universe-like phase, titled Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters. “The Brave and the Bold is the story of Batman and his actual son, Damian Wayne,” Gunn said. “This is based on Grant Morrison’s great comic book run. Damian Wayne is my favorite Robin; he’s a little assassin that Batman tries to get in line. So, this is the story about the two of them and…the beginning of the Bat Family in the DCU.”

More recently, Gunn offered an update on The Brave and the Bold, saying, “We’re working on a script. We have a screenwriter who’s hammering away at it. I’m very involved, and so we’ll see what happens next. I wish I had more news for you, but I don’t.” Perhaps this will drag on long enough that by the time The Brave and the Bold is ready to be released, Pattinson will already have hung up his cape and cowl for good. Whatever the case, eventually we will get updates on this project, and then we can all partake in the age-old tradition of being overly critical of the next person cast to play Batman.

The DCU’s Batman film is still a ways off, with the most immediate concern being when the sequel…

[263
18,117,19,17,327
0":"post-140883","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-movies","8":"tag-eire","9":"tag-entertainment","10":"tag-ie","11":"tag-ireland","12":"tag-movies
["GET
