Rock icon Jon Bon Jovi<\/a><\/strong> recently shared one of the sweetest headlines in his life \u2013 he\u2019s officially a grandfather. During a chat on Today with Savannah Guthrie<\/strong>, he couldn\u2019t suppress his grin as he talked about his son Jake Bongiovi<\/a><\/strong> and daughter-in-law Millie Bobby Brown\u2019s<\/a><\/strong> new arrival, and revealed the warmest new chapter in his life.<\/p>\n

\u201cImmediately you fall in love. You know, when we met Jake and Millie\u2019s daughter, it was just immediate. You\u2019re like, \u2018That\u2019s my granddaughter,\u2019\u201d Bon Jovi, 63, said during his Thursday, October 23 appearance<\/a>. \u201cShe won\u2019t be able to walk for at least 10 or 12 years because Papa will be carrying her everywhere she goes.\u201d<\/p>\n

When Guthrie, 53, teased him about maybe needing \u201clittle baby headsets\u201d so she could come on tour, he laughed and replied, \u201cYeah, I count on that.\u201d<\/p>\n

How the Family Grew<\/p>\n

Brown, 21, and Bongiovi, 23, became parents this summer via adoption<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis summer we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption,” the couple wrote in a message shared via Instagram<\/a> on August 21. We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy. And then there were three.\u201d<\/p>\n

They\u2019ve kept things intentionally private with no name announced, no heavy photo ops. Since the initial announcement, they\u2019ve shared no further details.<\/p>\n

Brown had spoken previously about wanting a large family and was explicitly open to adoption.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor me, I don\u2019t see having your own child, you know, as really any different as in adopting,\u201d the Stranger Things star said when she sat down for an interview on the Smartless<\/a> podcast in March.<\/p>\n

Meet ‘Papa’<\/p>\n

Bon Jovi opted not to go with the traditional \u201cgrandpa\u201d label. Instead, he\u2019s fully embracing \u201cPapa.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a September 22 appearance on Bunnie XO\u2019s<\/strong>Dumb Blonde<\/a> podcast, the Grammy winner said, \u201cThey adopted a girl and we met the baby, obviously, and immediately that becomes your grandchild, your baby. It\u2019s beautiful.\u201d<\/p>\n

He went on to admit, \u201cI want to see pictures like every day. I\u2019m that pain in the butt guy already.\u201d<\/p>\n

All the Pipes Are Still Alive<\/p>\n

However, there\u2019s more to Bon Jovi\u2019s life right now than lullabies and baby headsets. With a new album and tour in the pipeline, plus this fresh grand-life detour, he\u2019s balancing two very different worlds, but he\u2019s genuinely thrilled.<\/p>\n

While some have questioned whether or not Brown was ready to be a mom at such a young age, the \u201cLivin\u2019 On a Prayer\u201d singer doesn\u2019t agree. He told Bunnie that his daughter-in-law is \u201ca sweetheart and a hard worker\u201d and said that even though she and Bongiovi married young, they \u201cgot our blessing because we get it. They are mature beyond their years.\u201d<\/p>\n
