{"id":142922,"date":"2025-10-24T14:40:10","date_gmt":"2025-10-24T14:40:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/142922\/"},"modified":"2025-10-24T14:40:10","modified_gmt":"2025-10-24T14:40:10","slug":"carrick-on-shannon-named-irelands-tidiest-town","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/142922\/","title":{"rendered":"Carrick-on-Shannon named Ireland&#8217;s tidiest town"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Carrick-on-Shannon in Co Leitrim has been announced as the overall winner at this year&#8217;s SuperValu Tidy Towns competition, and also took home the honours in the small town category.<\/p>\n<p>Rosscarbery in Cork was named Ireland&#8217;s Tidiest Village, while Dalkey in Co Dublin was awarded Ireland&#8217;s Tidiest Large Town.<\/p>\n<p>The Tidiest Large Urban Centre award went to Tralee in Co Kerry.<\/p>\n<p>Minister for Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht Dara Calleary thanked the 30,000 volunteers who had served their communities in all weather conditions.<\/p>\n<p>The SuperValu TidyTowns competition, organised by the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht, has been running since 1958 and has been sponsored by SuperValu since 1991.<\/p>\n<p alt=\"Carrick-on-Shannon in Co Leitrim named Ireland's tidiest town\" class=\"tpe\" data-description=\"\" data-embed=\"rte-player\" data-id=\"22554770\" data-ot-category=\"C0004\" data-title=\"\">We need your consent to load this rte-player contentWe use rte-player to manage extra content that can set cookies on your device and collect data about your activity.
