Boyega gained international recognition for playing Finn in the Star Wars sequel trilogy. His character was last seen in 2019\u2019s The Rise of Skywalker, in which he became a general for the Resistance, along with Poe Dameron, following Leia\u2019s death.<\/p>\n<p>What did John Boyega say about Star Wars and Star Trek?<\/p>\n<p>During an appearance at the recent Dragon Con, Boyega admitted that he doesn\u2019t really see himself starring in a Star Trek project because of his loyalty to the Star Wars franchise. However, he believes that Star Wars fans could learn something from their rival franchise, revealing that he admires how Star Trek allows its fans \u201ctime to have discussions.\u201d Despite his previous frustrations with how <a href=\"https:\/\/www.superherohype.com\/tag\/Lucasfilm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Lucasfilm<\/a> handled Finn\u2019s story, he remains a loyal fan of George Lucas\u2019 long-running sci-fi epic franchise.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m an old school Star Wars fan, and if you\u2019re a Trekkie and you\u2019ve met me at the booths, you would find that I would mention that I don\u2019t like Star Trek,\u201d Boyega said. \u201cI just think that on the Trekkie side, they like to talk about it. On the Star Wars side, we just get active. With Star Wars, you\u2019ve got to talk while the war is going on.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He continued, \u201cIn Star Trek, they give you time to have discussions. I think there\u2019s something Star Wars can learn from that, actually. In terms of me appearing in [Star Trek], I\u2019ve got to stay on team. I\u2019m a lightsaber guy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Since it was confirmed that Daisy Ridley would be reprising Rey in a new Star Wars movie, rumors about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.superherohype.com\/news\/601049-star-wars-john-boyega-finn-return-conditions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Boyega\u2019s return<\/a> as Finn have circulated online. From acclaimed filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy and Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight, the untitled project is expected to take place 15 years after the events of the 2019 movie.
