{"id":144637,"date":"2025-10-25T12:57:10","date_gmt":"2025-10-25T12:57:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/144637\/"},"modified":"2025-10-25T12:57:10","modified_gmt":"2025-10-25T12:57:10","slug":"malaysia-seeks-to-seal-us-trade-deal-hopes-for-no-tariff-hike-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/144637\/","title":{"rendered":"Malaysia seeks to seal US trade deal, hopes for no tariff hike"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia hopes there will be no increase in tariff rates as it looks to seal a trade deal with the United States when President Donald Trump visits Kuala Lumpur on Sunday (Oct 26).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI hope that we can conclude the trade deal between the US and Malaysia,\u201d Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan told a press conference at the 47th Asean Summit and Related Summits on Saturday (Oct 25).<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/apicms.thestar.com.my\/uploads\/images\/2025\/10\/25\/3588251.jpg\" onerror=\"this.src=\" https:=\"\" style=\"float: left; width: 200px; height: 88px;\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat we are enjoying today is a 19% tariff and 0% on electrical and electronics (E&amp;E).
