The automaker already introduced the Final Edition, which gave away the game\u2014we knew this day was close. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Toyota issued a brief press release making the announcement (translated): \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8216;Regarding Supra, production will end in March 2026. Thank you very much for your patronage of our many customers. We are very sorry for the fact that customers who were considering purchasing have been notified of the end of production. For alternative car models, please contact your local dealer.&#8217;\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Toyota revealed the fifth-generation <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motor1.com\/toyota\/supra\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"1\" data-params=\"%7B%22make_alias%22%3A%22toyota%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22supra%22%7D\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Supra<\/a> at the 2019 Detroit Auto Show, with sales starting in the United States before the end of the year after a 21-year hiatus. Toyota first hinted at the Supra\u2019s return in the early 2010s, teasing the new sports car as early as 2014 with the GT-1 concept. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Toyota debuted as a collaboration with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motor1.com\/bmw\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"2\" data-params=\"%7B%22alias%22%3A%22bmw%22%7D\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">BMW<\/a>, sharing its platform and powertrains with the Z4. The 2020 Supra initially launched in the United States with just the turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six B58 engine, getting the turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four B48 engine for 2021. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>        <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/16x9-tr.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"16\" height=\"9\" loading=\"lazy\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Photo by: Toyota<\/p>\n<p>The car launched with a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission, but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motor1.com\/toyota\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"2\" data-params=\"%7B%22alias%22%3A%22toyota%22%7D\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Toyota<\/a> eventually offered a six-speed manual\u2014but only for the inline-six engine. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The 2026 Toyota Supra MkV Final Edition <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motor1.com\/news\/755575\/toyota-supra-final-edition-usa\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"0\" data-params=\"%7B%22article_edition_id%22%3A%22755575%22%2C%22section%22%3A%221%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22toyota-supra-final-edition-usa%22%7D\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">for sale in the US<\/a> makes 382 horsepower and 386 pound-feet of torque from the B58, sending the coupe to 60 miles per hour in 3.9 seconds. It costs $69,745. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Final Edition that is available in Japan and Europe, of which Toyota is building only 300 for both markets, makes 429 hp and 420 lb-ft from an upgraded B58 engine. American consumers must <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motor1.com\/news\/755575\/toyota-supra-final-edition-usa\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"0\" data-params=\"%7B%22article_edition_id%22%3A%22755575%22%2C%22section%22%3A%221%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22toyota-supra-final-edition-usa%22%7D\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">do without<\/a>. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>While it\u2019s always sad to see production end for such a great car, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motor1.com\/news\/761265\/new-toyota-supra-confirmed\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"0\" data-params=\"%7B%22article_edition_id%22%3A%22761265%22%2C%22section%22%3A%221%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22new-toyota-supra-confirmed%22%7D\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the Supra won\u2019t be gone for long<\/a>. The automaker has already hinted at a successor, but there might be a gap between generations. We doubt we\u2019ll have to wait as long as we did for the fifth-generation, but we\u2019ll see soon enough.
