Earlier this year, Allen <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/lily-allen-speaks-out-on-time-in-treatment-centre-for-emotional-turmoil-after-david-harbour-split-3838153\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">revealed that she went into a treatment centre to deal with the \u201cemotional turmoil\u201d<\/a> of the split.<\/p>\n<p>Allen\u2019s split from Harbour has proved a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/lily-allen-on-new-album-west-end-girl-dealing-with-deep-rooted-issues-with-rejection-and-abandonment-after-david-harbour-divorce-3901923\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">huge source of inspiration for her new record<\/a> with one track, entitled \u2018Madeline\u2019, seeing the pop star singing about confronting Harbour\u2019s other woman over text, asking: \u201cHow long has it been going on? Is it just sex or is there emotion?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Now, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/tvshowbiz\/article-15227093\/Madeline-Lily-Allen-world-exclusive-reveal-mum-affair-stars-husband-David-Harbour-Natalie-Tippett-exposed.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">The Mail On Sunday<\/a>, a woman named Natalie Tippett claims she and Harbour had a relationship.<\/p>\n<p>When asked about the track \u2018Madeline\u2019, she told the publication: \u201cOf course I\u2019ve heard the song. But I have a family and things to protect. I have a two-and-a-half-year-old daughter, and I understand this is going on. It\u2019s a little bit scary for me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On another track \u2018Tennis\u2019, Allen recalls finding messages to another woman on the phone of her lover when going on his phone. \u201cI read your texts, and now I regret it\u2026 If it was just sex, I wouldn\u2019t be jealous. You won\u2019t play with me, and who\u2019s Madeline?\u201d she sings.<\/p>\n<p>When asked whether she knew the singer-songwriter was going to mention her text messages on her record, Tippett said: \u201cYeah, I just don\u2019t feel comfortable talking about it at the moment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Despite her claims, Allen insisted in an interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetimes.com\/culture\/music\/article\/lily-allen-interview-intimacy-is-messy-ive-had-a-tough-year-qvc3t078z\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">The Sunday Times<\/a> that the song \u2018Madeline\u2019 is a fictional character who is a \u201cconstruct of others\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Allen also said she thinks lots of young women are no longer finding marriage and long-term relationships attractive.<\/p>\n<p>She added: \u201cI just feel we are living in really interesting times \u2013 in terms of how we define intimacy and monogamy, people being disposable or not.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe way we are being intimate with each other is changing as humans \u2026 Lots of young women are not finding the idea of marriage or even a long-term relationship that attractive anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Allen and Harbour are yet to respond publicly to Tippett\u2019s claims.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018West End Girl\u2019 was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/reviews\/album\/lily-allen-west-end-girl-review-3901723\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">given a four-star review from NME<\/a>, and praised as \u201ca sleek, smart collection that sees Allen back at her very best\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs you\u2019d expect from her most \u2018vulnerable\u2019 album, there\u2019s a lot of grief and misery across \u2018West End Girl\u2019, but it never sounds depressing,\u201d it read. \u201cSince \u2018Smile\u2019, Allen\u2019s always had a knack for making devastation sound exciting.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s rage behind the pulsating \u2018Ruminating\u2019 as she struggles with the realities of an open marriage, playful other woman anthem \u2018Madeline\u2019 is a dizzying cocktail of uncertainty, fury and empathy, while the gorgeous \u2018Just Enough\u2019 is as crushing as it gets, heartbreak amplified by lush strings.
