At Nikon, we’re proud to support a competition that sparks joy while reminding us why our wild world is worth protecting.”

This year, there are 40 standalone images, as well as three portfolio entries, and 10 video entries, making up what organizers of the Comedy Wildlife Competition described as “a cracking collection of jaw dropping and laugh out loud photos of some of the most incredible wildlife that we share this planet with.”

Nearly 10,000 photos were submitted from 108 countries, according to the release. Each photo is authentic, as AI and digital manipulation are not allowed.

The top prize is a one-week safari with Alex Walker’s Serian in the Masai Mara.

The winners will be announced on December 9 during an award ceremony at the OXO Gallery in London. The top photos will be showcased in the gallery from December 10 through December 14.

According to the release, the awards were co-founded in 2015 by professional photographers Paul Joynson-Hicks MBE and Tom Sullam “to create a competition that fused exceptional wildlife photography and the positive power of humour in a bid to help promote the conservation of wildlife and habitats that our precious planet relies on.”

Sullam praised Nikon for its support, saying the camera company “supercharged the competition” by helping Comedy Wildlife reach more people, raise awareness of animal and habitat conservation, as well as highlight the importance of wildlife.

These inspiring and funny photos and videos do just that,” Sullam said. “It’s a privilege to be part of this exciting journey, making us all laugh and we can’t wait to announce the winners in December.”

The Nikon Comedy Wildlife Awards just revealed its “hotly anticipated” finalists for the 2025 competition.
