Demi Moore<\/strong> thought that Tom Cruise<\/strong> was \u201cembarrassed\u201d by her pregnancy when they worked together in A Few Good Men. The actress recently recalled working with Cruise and opened up about pregnancy and working mothers in the film industry.<\/p>\n

Demi Moore recently attended the New Yorker Festival<\/a> on October 25, where she sat down with Jia Tolentino for a Q&A session. During the conversation, the Substance star looked back on her experience working with Tom Cruise on the set of A Few Good Men.<\/p>\n

Moore was around eight months pregnant with her and ex-husband Bruce Willis\u2019 daughter, Scout Willis, at the time. She recalled how Cruise might have been uncomfortable with her pregnancy during the making of the film.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think Tom was quite embarrassed,\u201d the actress recalled. She further stated, \u201cI actually felt okay about it. I was moving around, though, right? But I could tell he felt that it was a bit awkward.\u201d<\/p>\n

Moore went on to explain further, stating that Cruise might have seemed awkward because most of the fellow Hollywood stars felt the pressure of choosing their career over motherhood. So, it was quite unusual for an actress to be pregnant at that time.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s one of the many things, for me, that I just felt didn\u2019t make sense. And so I challenged that to say, you know, \u2018Why not? Why can\u2019t you have both?\u2019 But with that, I think, came a lot of pressure I put on myself to, in a sense, prove that it was possible,\u201d Moore reflected.<\/p>\n

Moore went on to recall the different challenges of pregnancy that she had to overcome at the time of filming. \u201cI look back at that time now, and I go, \u2018What the f\u2014 was I thinking?\u2019 And what was I even trying to prove?\u2019 But it wasn\u2019t as supported as it is today. You know, to be breastfeeding and then blocking and rehearsing a scene,\u201d she stated.<\/p>\n

However, Moore is now optimistic that the industry has changed and is now more supportive of young actresses and motherhood.<\/p>\n
