Germany-based studio K\u00e9r\u00e9 Architecture<\/a> has designed its own football kit<\/a> for its team to wear in Berlin’s architecture football championship.<\/p>\n

The shirts, which won a tournament award for Best Jersey Design, were designed by K\u00e9r\u00e9 Architecture<\/a> architect Ho-Jae Lee following a competition at the studio.<\/p>\n

\"K\u00e9r\u00e9K\u00e9r\u00e9 Architecture has designed its own football kit<\/p>\n

Lee’s design was directly informed by studio founder Di\u00e9b\u00e9do Francis K\u00e9r\u00e9’s design for the Sarbal\u00e9 Ke installation<\/a>, which formed part of Coachella 2019.<\/p>\n

“The jersey design emerged from an internal competition at K\u00e9r\u00e9 Architecture, won by architect Ho-Jae Lee \u2013 demonstrating how ideas from architectural projects can translate into unexpected contexts, from large-scale installations to sportswear,” said the studio.<\/p>\n

\"K\u00e9r\u00e9The kit was informed by the Sarbal\u00e9 Ke installation<\/p>\n

The yellow and dark blue shirt incorporates the characteristic triangular geometry that decorated the installation.<\/p>\n

The triangles are a recurring motif in the studio’s work, featuring on the Serpentine Pavilion in London<\/a>, the Thomas Sankara Memorial in Burkina Faso<\/a> and the proposed Las Vegas Museum of Art<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"YellowThe kit was the winner of a competition at the studio<\/p>\n

The pattern wraps around the entire shirt, with the word K\u00e9r\u00e9 printed on the back above the numbers. The kit was complete with simple white shorts with a blue and yellow side stripe.<\/p>\n

An alternative blue and maroon version of the strip was used as a goalkeeper kit.<\/p>\n

K\u00e9r\u00e9 Architecture unveiled the kit at Berlin’s ABC Cup architecture football championship earlier this year.<\/p>\n

The studio’s kit was named the best in the tournament, which featured teams from 13 other Berlin-based studios, including GMP<\/a>, Sauerbruch Hutton<\/a>, David Chipperfield Architects<\/a> and Max Dudler<\/a>.<\/p>\n

K\u00e9r\u00e9 Architecture was founded in 2005 by K\u00e9r\u00e9, who was named the winner of the Pritzker Architecture Prize in 2022<\/a> and in 2023 was listed among Time’s 100 most influential climate leaders<\/a>.<\/p>\n
