Heartbreaking tributes<\/a> have been paid to a ‘one of a kind’ Irish man who tragically died last week in an accident in New Zealand<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Dillon Mc Dermott, from Moycullen in Co Galway<\/a>, lost has life in a tragic incident which occurred in Queenstown on Wednesday (October 22).<\/p>\n

A death notice shared by the young man’s family on RIP.ie stated: “It is with profound sadness that we announce the untimely death of Dillon Mc Dermott, Kylebroghlan, Moycullen, Co Galway, following an accident in Queenstown, New Zealand on 22nd October 2025.<\/p>\n

“Dillon is deeply missed by his loving family, including his parents Tom and Patricia, his beloved fianc\u00e9e Elle Burton, his brothers Sean Rossa and Lairgnen, along with Lairgnen’s fianc\u00e9 Ciara Elwood and his adored niece Laura.<\/p>\n

“He is also sadly missed by the Burton family, including Debbie, Phillip, Owen, and Jessica, by Dillon’s extended families aunts, uncles, cousins, and a community that has given Dillon a wonderful childhood as well as his faithful friends from all corners of the globe.”<\/p>\n

Dillion’s unexpected death has left his family back home in Galway devastated, with mourners paying tribute to the popular young Irishman who ‘lit up every room he entered’.<\/p>\n

One person said: “Our condolences to you all on your heartbreak. A huge loss to everyone who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace and may memories of Dillon give you solace for evermore.”<\/p>\n

A close pal said: “Dillon was truly one a of a kind and lit up every room he entered. He will be greatly missed. Rest Easy my friend. R.I.P.”<\/p>\n

“Tom, Patricia, Sean Rossa and Lairgnen, we are absolutely heartbroken for you all,” a family friend said in a message shared online, while another person added: “So sorry to hear the passing of Dillon so young may he rest in peace my prayers are with all the family.”<\/p>\n

Dillon’s family are now working to bring his body back home to Ireland, with his funeral arrangements set to be announced at a later date.<\/p>\n
