Humanity may not see it again for another 1,300 years. <\/p>\n<p>But fortunately, astrophotographers were on hand to immortalize Comet Lemmon. Mike Carroll captured it over Slide Mountain, the highest peak in the Catskill Mountains, New York, on a <a href=\"https:\/\/petapixel.com\/2022\/10\/26\/sony-alpha-7r-v-review-a-marriage-of-performance-and-power\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sony a7R V<\/a> and a <a href=\"https:\/\/petapixel.com\/2023\/11\/16\/sigma-70-200mm-f-2-8-dg-dn-os-sports-lens-review-long-awaited\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sigma 70-200mm f\/2.8 DG DN OS Sports<\/a> lens. <\/p>\n<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/petapixel.com\/2025\/10\/28\/comet-a6-lemmon-astrophotography\/mike-carroll-lemmon\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-822563 nofollow noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Mike-Carroll-Lemmon-534x800.jpg\" alt=\"A bright comet with a visible tail streaks across a star-filled night sky above dark, rolling hills.
