Described as a prelude to the movie\u2019s story, the one-shot comic is written by Ethan Sacks (Star Wars: Bounty Hunters), with director <a href=\"https:\/\/www.superherohype.com\/tag\/dan-trachtenberg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dan Trachtenberg<\/a> also set to write the foreword for the issue. It is set to be published on November 12.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor a writer who grew up a lifelong fan of the Predator franchise, there is no bigger game than the chance to hunt with the Yautja,\u201d Sacks shared. \u201cWorking hand in hand with the filmmakers behind Predator: Badlands, we made sure this prequel story fits into the cinematic saga like a puzzle piece. It\u2019s going to give fans a deeper, richer experience \u2013 especially when they get to feast their eyes on Elvin Ching\u2019s art.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>What is the Predator: Badlands prequel comic about?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the one-shot, a young Yautja warrior is given a seemingly simple task by his father: retrieve a piece of technology from a derelict spaceship that crashed years ago. Inside, however, an ancient and deadly threat lies in wait,\u201d reads the comic\u2019s official synopsis.<\/p>\n<p>Titled Predator: Badlands #1, the prequel comic is illustrated by Elvin Ching in his Marvel Comics debut. It also hails from comic book inker <a href=\"https:\/\/www.superherohype.com\/tag\/Oren-Junior\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Oren Junior<\/a> and artist <a href=\"https:\/\/www.superherohype.com\/tag\/Juan-Ferreyra\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Juan Ferreyra<\/a>, with the latter creating the issue\u2019s cover art. This marks the latest entry to the Predator comic book series following the recent launches of Predator Kills the Marvel Universe and Predator: Black, White &amp; Blood.<\/p>\n<p>Trachtenberg added, \u201cBadlands is the first Predator movie to draw inspiration so heavily from the comic books. So it\u2019s with great delight that you and I now get to look at splash pages, from the minds of Ethan and Elvin, of a formative adventure for our characters that serves as a perfect companion to the film. Dek kicking ass in his very own comic book is a dream come true.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Predator: Badlands is directed and produced by Trachtenberg, who co-wrote the screenplay with Patrick Aison based on the characters by Jim Thomas and John Thomas. The cast is led by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.superherohype.com\/tag\/Elle-Fanning\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Elle Fanning<\/a> as a young android named Thia and Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi as Dek.
