A repeat offender with more than 100 convictions has been told he will stay in custody until he is sentenced for a burglary.<\/p>\n

Paul Lillicrap (45), with an address in Ballybrack, Co. Dublin, appeared for a bail hearing at Wicklow Criminal Circuit Court after pleading guilty to one count of burglary.<\/p>\n

The court heard that Mr Lillicrap is awaiting sentencing for breaking into a home earlier this year. An alarm was triggered upon entry, alerting garda\u00ed. He was discovered hiding in a wardrobe with a bag containing valuable items.<\/p>\n

Mr Lillicrap has a significant history of burglary offences, with 70 of his previous 110 convictions relating to theft or burglary matters.<\/p>\n

Counsel for the defence, Eamonn O\u2019Moore BL, told the court that his client wanted to avail of bail before sentencing in order to seek assistance for his drug addiction. He said that most of his client\u2019s offending was committed to fund his drug habit.<\/p>\n

The court heard that a governor\u2019s report, urine analysis and victim impact statement are required before sentencing can take place.<\/p>\n

Judge Patrick Quinn noted that Mr Lillicrap\u2019s co-defendant remains on remand. <\/p>\n

Judge Quinn remanded Mr Lillicrap in custody for sentencing on November 12.<\/p>\n
