{"id":153248,"date":"2025-10-30T11:51:10","date_gmt":"2025-10-30T11:51:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/153248\/"},"modified":"2025-10-30T11:51:10","modified_gmt":"2025-10-30T11:51:10","slug":"julian-schnabel-talks-death-immortality-at-tribeca-festival-lisboa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/153248\/","title":{"rendered":"Julian Schnabel Talks Death, Immortality at Tribeca Festival Lisboa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tA pensive <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/julian-schnabel\/\" id=\"auto-tag_julian-schnabel_1\" data-tag=\"julian-schnabel\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Julian Schnabel<\/a> had much to say about death and immortality in art when he screened his latest film, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-reviews\/in-the-hand-of-dante-review-oscar-isaac-gal-gadot-schnabel-1236358155\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">In The Hand of Dante<\/a>, as the opening night film at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/tribeca\/\" id=\"auto-tag_tribeca_1\" data-tag=\"tribeca\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tribeca<\/a> Festival Lisboa on Wednesday night in Lisbon, Portugal.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tSchnabel, wearing his signature artist smock and fedora, during a post-screening Q&amp;A discussed themes of art and the creative process, and argued artists create as a way to confront a fear of death. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cWhether you\u2019re an actor or you\u2019re a painter, you\u2019re using yourself as a guinea pig and the tool, and you make this thing and the thing becomes the thing that lasts. It\u2019s a way of transgressing death,\u201d he insisted. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tSchnabel then added\u201d \u201cI\u2019m not going to be around here for very long.
