{"id":153701,"date":"2025-10-30T17:05:06","date_gmt":"2025-10-30T17:05:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/153701\/"},"modified":"2025-10-30T17:05:06","modified_gmt":"2025-10-30T17:05:06","slug":"woman-80s-died-after-she-was-pushed-down-stairs-inquest-hears","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/153701\/","title":{"rendered":"Woman (80s) died after she was pushed down stairs, inquest hears"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An<strong> 82-year-old woman<\/strong> died from <strong>complications<\/strong> which arose from a<strong> subdural haematoma blunt force trauma head injury<\/strong>, which occurred after she was <strong>pushed down stairs<\/strong>, an<strong> inquest<\/strong> has heard.<\/p>\n<p>Cork Coroner\u2019s Court on Thursday heard evidence in relation to the cause of death of Stella Nnamdi. The pensioner died in hospital on February 25th last.<\/p>\n<p>She died two days after an incident at her home in Garrydhu Drive, Kilmoney Road, in Carrigaline, Co Cork.<\/p>\n<p>Assistant State Pathologist Dr Margaret Bolster gave evidence on behalf of State Pathologist Dr Heidi Okkers.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Okkers carried out the postmortem on Ms Nnamdi on the 26th of February last.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Bolster said that myelofibrosis was also a contributory factor in the death of the pensioner, who suffered a subdural haematoma after she was pushed down stairs at her home.<\/p>\n<p>Sgt Fergus Twomey applied for an adjournment to allow criminal proceedings to occur. Coroner Philip Comyn adjourned the inquest on an indefinite basis or \u2018sine die.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Ms Nnamdi was a Nigerian national who lived with her daughter in Carrigaline, Co Cork. She moved to Ireland around 15 years ago.<\/p>\n<p>She was transferred to Cork University Hospital on the morning of February 25th last, where she underwent a medical examination for a head injury.
