Beatrice attended the event just days after her father, Prince Andrew, announced that he was relinquishing his royal titles, including his prestigious Duke of York status<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
In the wake of Prince Andrew<\/a>‘s recent announcement that he would no longer use his royal titles, his daughter Princess Beatrice<\/a>‘s name tag contained a mistake.<\/p>\n On Oct. 28, a photo surfaced of King Charles’ niece at an event widely identified as the Future Investment Initiative in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where she smiled alongside another attendee. Princess Beatrice, 37, wore a name tag on a lanyard with her business casual outfit, and a close look showed that her royal title on the badge wasn’t technically correct.<\/p>\n In addition to “Liontree,” the New York asset management firm where she holds an advisory role, the tag identified her as “H.R.H. Princess Beatrice of York.” While “H.R.H.” reflects Beatrice’s status as Her Royal Highness, the “of York” language was outdated.<\/p>\n Prior to her 2020 marriage, Beatrice was known as Princess Beatrice of York to reflect her father Andrew’s Duke of York title.<\/p>\n Sunil Sharma\/X.com<\/p>\n Princess Beatrice in a photo posted on Oct. 28, 2025.<\/p>\n It’s tradition within the royal family for royal children to adopt their parents’ titles in this way, and a trend that continues today.
