{"id":153988,"date":"2025-10-30T20:35:14","date_gmt":"2025-10-30T20:35:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/153988\/"},"modified":"2025-10-30T20:35:14","modified_gmt":"2025-10-30T20:35:14","slug":"eu-trade-in-candles-in-2024-news-articles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/153988\/","title":{"rendered":"EU trade in candles in 2024 &#8211; News articles"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ecl-u-type-paragraph\">In 2024, the <a class=\"ecl-link\" href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/eurostat\/statistics-explained\/index.php?title=Glossary:European_Union_(EU)\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">EU<\/a> <a class=\"ecl-link\" href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/eurostat\/statistics-explained\/index.php?title=Glossary:Import\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">imported<\/a> \u20ac513 million worth of candles from countries outside the EU, a 17% increase compared to 2023 (\u20ac437 million).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"ecl-u-type-paragraph\">At the same time, the EU <a class=\"ecl-link\" href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/eurostat\/statistics-explained\/index.php?title=Glossary:Export\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">exported<\/a> \u20ac450 million worth of candles to countries outside the EU, a 2% decrease compared with 2023 (\u20ac460 million).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"ecl-u-type-paragraph\">The Netherlands was the largest EU importer of candles from countries outside the EU with \u20ac112 million worth of candles in 2024, representing 22% of total imports of candles by value, ahead of Germany (\u20ac80 million, 16%) and France (\u20ac64 million, 12%).<\/p>\n<p class=\"ecl-u-type-paragraph\">Imports of candles from outside the EU came mainly from China (\u20ac382 million, 75%), followed by Vietnam (\u20ac30 million, 6%) and the United Kingdom (\u20ac28 million, 6%).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center\"><a class=\"ecl-link\" href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/eurostat\/documents\/4187653\/20614207\/trade-in-candles-2024.jpg\/7ed13ab7-7729-d0f3-0dc4-753b6855364b?t=1761200259810\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Trade in candles, 2024.
