Before Eilish took the stage, the late-night host also announced that the guest of honor had raised a whopping $11.5 million for organizations addressing food insecurity and climate change through her ongoing Hit Me Hard and Soft Tour.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tEilish then took the podium to accept the honor, looking out at a room of supremely wealthy and powerful guests \u2014 including Mark Zuckerberg, whose <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/real-time-billionaires\/#479cc17c3d78\">Forbes<\/a>-estimated net worth of $228 billion makes him the fifth richest man on the planet. The Meta owner was in attendance to support his wife, Dr. Priscilla Chan, who was honored Wednesday night for her philanthropy work as head of CZI.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cPeople need empathy and help in our country,\u201d the nine-time Grammy winner said in her remarks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tShe proceeded to deliver a blunt call to action directly to the heavy hitters in the room. \u201cI\u2019d say if you have money, it would be great to use it for good things and give it to some people that need it,\u201d Eilish told the crowd. \u201cLove you all, but there\u2019s a few people in here that have a lot more money than me. If you are a billionaire, why are you a billionaire?\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cNo hate, but give your money away, shorties,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tBillboard has reached out to Meta for comment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe event took place on the same day Eilish\u2019s interview with WSJ Magazine went live online. In addition to opening up about touring life and revealing that she <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/music-news\/billie-eilish-almost-scrap-birds-of-a-feather-1236101194\/\">almost scrapped<\/a> one of her biggest hits to date from album Hit Me Hard and Soft, the two-time Oscar winner told the publication about her passion for the environment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cYou can literally make all the same s\u2013t with sustainable materials, and people just aren\u2019t doing it,\u201d she said of the fashion industry in particular. \u201cThe main thing that I\u2019ve learned in working with so many companies and making my own merch and my perfume is that everyone can actually do it. It\u2019s just that mostly they don\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tEilish\u2019s $11.5 million donation will be funneled into her Changemaker Program, which benefits organizations working to address world hunger and environmental issues.
