Jamie Lee Curtis had an immaculate compliment for Sydney Sweeney.<\/p>\n

The \u201cHalloween\u201d actress, 66, was on Variety\u2019s 2025 Power of Women red carpet Wednesday when the \u201cEuphoria\u201d star\u2019s daring dress caught her eye.<\/p>\n

Sweeney, 28, went braless in a form-fitting Christian Cowan x Elias Matso crystal gown with her blond bob sleekly styled around her face.<\/p>\n

In an\u00a0Entertainment Tonight<\/a> video, Curtis can be seen pointing up and down at the \u201cAnyone But You\u201d actress in awe before wrapping her in a hug.<\/p>\n

Curtis, for her part, was famously nicknamed \u201cThe Body\u201d early on in her career for her work in projects such as \u201cTrading Places\u201d and \u201cPerfect.\u201d In 2010, she was asked about the label during an interview with CBS. <\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cNo, no. I don\u2019t think anyone likes to be known for something that\u2019s exterior. I don\u2019t believe it,\u201d she said at the time. \u201cI don\u2019t think any woman wants to be known for being beautiful or busty. I think you want to be known for who you are.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sweeney, meanwhile, was honored at\u00a0the gala as one of the outlet\u2019s cover stars<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A day prior, the Emmy-nominated actress spoke with\u00a0Variety<\/a> about the backlash she received surrounding her appearance before rising to fame.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had someone tell me to fix my face or else I\u2019m not going to make it. I should get Botox. I was 16!\u201d Sweeney recalled. \u201cOr I\u2019m in a casting and I\u2019m reading my scene and the casting director is eating a bag of chips, and I\u2019m like, \u2018You\u2019re not paying attention at all.\u2019 \u201d<\/p>\n

But the commentary hasn\u2019t influenced the star to try out any cosmetic procedures.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve never gotten anything done. I\u2019m absolutely terrified of needles. No tattoos. Nothing. I\u2019m going to age gracefully,\u201d Sweeney confirmed.<\/p>\n

There are many side-by-side photos of the \u201cImmaculate\u201d actress floating around the internet. One picture shows a younger Sweeney while the other image shows the Washington native now.<\/p>\n

Online critics have used the shots to prove Sweeney had work done, to which she explained: \u201cIt\u2019s really funny.. I\u2019m like, \u2018I\u2019m 12 in that photo. Of course, I\u2019m going to look different. I have makeup on now and I\u2019m 15 years older.\u2019 \u201c<\/p>\n

Despite internet trolls, Sweeney admitted that keeping up on the online chatter<\/a> is sometimes necessary.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s important to have a finger on the pulse of what people are saying, because everything is a conversation with the audience,\u201d Sweeney told\u00a0the Wall Street Journal<\/a>\u00a0in August.<\/p>\n

In June, Sweeney faced backlash for her partnership with Dr. Squatch. At the time, she released\u00a0a limited-edition line of bar soaps<\/a>\u00a0made from her bathwater.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was mainly the girls making comments about it, which I thought was really interesting,\u201d she detailed to the publication. \u201cThey all loved the idea of\u00a0Jacob Elordi\u2019s bathwater.\u201d<\/p>\n

Her \u201cEuphoria\u201d co-star, 28, starred in \u201cSaltburn\u201d opposite\u00a0Barry Keoghan in 2023. In one scene, the Irish actor\u2019s character Oliver drank bathwater after Elordi\u2019s Felix pleasured himself in the tub.<\/p>\n

Fans ended up creating a \u201cBathwater Candle\u201d inspired by the scene.<\/p>\n

Sweeney\u2019s bathwater, however, didn\u2019t gain the same kind of traction.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s more fun to see everyone else talk about it,\u201d she coyly confessed to\u00a0E! News<\/a>\u00a0at the time, noting that the soap was made because \u201cI pitched it.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, Sweeney found herself in hot water once again\u00a0due to her American Eagle partnership<\/a>, which launched in July. Her \u201cSydney Sweeney has great jeans\u201d campaign\u00a0sparked a debate about race<\/a>\u00a0and beauty standards.<\/p>\n

Critics focused on the use of the word \u201cgenes\u201d instead of \u201cjeans\u201d when discussing the blond, blue-eyed star.<\/p>\n

Social media users felt the ad promoted eugenics<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cGenes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair color, personality and even eye color,\u201d Sweeney said in the American Eagle campagin. \u201cMy jeans are blue.\u201d<\/p>\n

American Eagle quickly\u00a0defended the company\u2019s choice<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Sweeney, who is wrapping filming on the third and final season of \u201cEuphoria,\u201d<\/a> never directly responded to the controversy.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was freaking out because I was like, \u2018This is perfect,\u2019 and I was so excited,\u201d Sweeney shared to People<\/a> about finding out she landed the brand deal.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen they were like, \u2018We want it to be a denim campaign,\u2019 I was through the roof. I was like, \u2018This is it. This is Syd. I will be able to bring this to life. You have no idea.\u2019 \u201d<\/p>\n
