{"id":154912,"date":"2025-10-31T08:16:07","date_gmt":"2025-10-31T08:16:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/154912\/"},"modified":"2025-10-31T08:16:07","modified_gmt":"2025-10-31T08:16:07","slug":"fda-recalls-blood-pressure-medication-containing-potential-carcinogen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/154912\/","title":{"rendered":"FDA recalls blood pressure medication containing potential carcinogen"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The U.S. Food and Drug Administration says drug makers have recalled more than a half-million bottles of the blood pressure medication prazosin hydrochloride over concerns it may include a cancer-causing chemical. <\/p>\n<p>New Jersey-based Teva Pharmaceuticals USA and drugs distributor Amerisource Health Services issued voluntary nationwide <a class=\"Link AnClick-LinkEnhancement\" data-gtm-enhancement-style=\"LinkEnhancementA\" href=\"https:\/\/www.accessdata.fda.gov\/scripts\/ires\/?Product=216677\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">recalls<\/a> earlier this month of more than 580,000 bottles of various strengths of prazosine capsules, according to the FDA. <\/p>\n<p>Doctors prescribe prazosin, which relaxes blood vessels, to help lower blood pressure.
