{"id":155348,"date":"2025-10-31T13:34:07","date_gmt":"2025-10-31T13:34:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/155348\/"},"modified":"2025-10-31T13:34:07","modified_gmt":"2025-10-31T13:34:07","slug":"israel-launches-more-strikes-on-gaza-overnight","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/155348\/","title":{"rendered":"Israel launches more strikes on Gaza overnight"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Israeli military attacked Gaza for a third day last night, killing two people, the Palestinian Authority&#8217;s official news agency said, in another test of a fragile ceasefire agreement.<\/p>\n<p>One Palestinian was killed by Israeli shelling and another was shot dead by Israeli forces, WAFA said.<\/p>\n<p>The Israeli military did not immediately reply to a Reuters request for comment.<\/p>\n<p>A third Palestinian died of wounds sustained from previous Israeli shelling, the news agency reported.<\/p>\n<p>The US-brokered ceasefire, which left thorny issues like the disarmament of Hamas and a timeline for Israeli withdrawal from Gaza unresolved, has been tested by periodic outbreaks of violence since it came into place three weeks ago.<\/p>\n<p>It comes as Israel returned the bodies of 30 more Palestinians to Gaza as part of an ongoing exchange deal under a US-brokered ceasefire plan, the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Yunis has said.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Red Cross teams deliver the bodies of 30 Palestinians\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/00236764-614.jpg\"\/><br \/>\nRed Cross teams deliver the bodies of 30 Palestinians, who were detained by Israeli forces from different parts of Gaza during the war<\/p>\n<p>The hospital said &#8220;the bodies of 30 Palestinian prisoners were received from the Israeli side as part of the exchange deal&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Under the truce, Israel is to return the remains of 15 Palestinians for every deceased Israeli hostage returned by Hamas.<\/p>\n<p>Today&#8217;s transfer brings the number returned to Gaza to 225.<\/p>\n<p>The bodies were brought to Nasser by the Red Cross, after being handed over by Israel, as has been the case in previous exchanges, the hospital said.<\/p>\n<p>Under the 10 October ceasefire plan, Hamas has already returned 20 surviving hostages taken two years ago during its 7 October 2023 assault on Israel.<\/p>\n<p>It has also begun sending back the bodies of 28 deceased hostages known to be missing, but the process has been slow and Israeli anger is mounting.<\/p>\n<p>Hamas has sent back 15 bodies identified as Israeli hostages and those of two foreign workers &#8211;
