The first building phase of Ireland\u2019s largest outdoor resort was completed in 2020 by the Irish company.<\/p>\n

According to Sisk, the construction will not affect normal operations of the resort, which will remain open during the development period.<\/p>\n

A total of 300 jobs will be created for the project, as well as a further 250 permanent jobs once it is operational, Sisk said.<\/p>\n

The new proposed development is set to increase capacity of the resort to 3,500 guests per break.<\/p>\n

The resort, situated near Ballymahon, Co Longford, has helped drive growth in the domestic tourism market, Sisk said.<\/p>\n

Over a 12-month period between April 2023 and April 2024, Center Parcs Longford Forest generated \u20ac58m for the Irish economy and welcomed 260,700 guests.<\/p>\n

For Longford, the resort has generated \u20ac44m and created over 1,000 jobs. Of those employed, 60pc are from Co Longford, with 89pc living in the Midlands region, it said.<\/p>\n

As part of the expansion, an air-source heat pump-led network will power the new lodges \u2013 a more climate-friendly alternative to a gas boiler.<\/p>\n

Measures will also be put in place at all facilities to reduce energy consumption, including the use of LED lighting, while new commercial buildings on the resort will be powered by electricity rather than gas.<\/p>\n

Low-flow outlets will be utilised throughout the development to reduce water consumption, Sisk added.<\/p>\n
