{"id":156343,"date":"2025-11-01T02:11:06","date_gmt":"2025-11-01T02:11:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/156343\/"},"modified":"2025-11-01T02:11:06","modified_gmt":"2025-11-01T02:11:06","slug":"daisy-edgar-jones-emilia-jones-to-star-in-bad-bridgets-movie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/156343\/","title":{"rendered":"Daisy Edgar-Jones, Emilia Jones to Star in Bad Bridgets Movie"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tTwisters star <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/daisy-edgar-jones\/\" id=\"auto-tag_daisy-edgar-jones_1\" data-tag=\"daisy-edgar-jones\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Daisy Edgar-Jones<\/a> and CODA star <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/emilia-jones\/\" id=\"auto-tag_emilia-jones_1\" data-tag=\"emilia-jones\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Emilia Jones<\/a> will topline a period revenge thriller currently titled Bad Bridgets, which is serving as the follow-up feature for Rich Peppiatt, the rising director behind British hit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/kneecap\/\" id=\"auto-tag_kneecap_1\" data-tag=\"kneecap\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kneecap<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tFilmNation will be handling <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/international\/\" id=\"auto-tag_international_1\" data-tag=\"international\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">international<\/a> sales, and WME Independent is on for domestic sales for the title, which will be officially introduced at November\u2019s American Film Market.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tLuckyChap and Coup d\u2019Etat, the latter being Peppiatt\u2019s production banner, are producing. The project is far enough along that is has Oscar winning production\u00a0designer\u00a0James Price (Poor Things) and costume designer Kate Hawley (Crimson Peak) on board. The producers are eyeing a shoot in Northern Ireland and Ireland in spring 2026.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe script was inspired by the book\u00a0Bad Bridget: Crime, Mayhem, and the Lives of Irish Emigrant Women\u00a0by Elaine Farrell and Leanne McCormick and\u00a0has been developed with the support of Belfast\u2019s Queens University.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe book looked at the world of Bad Bridgets, a swath of Irish women emigrants that were deemed troublemakers, noting that for a time Irish women outnumbered Irish men in prison (it didn\u2019t help that some of the women locked up were in there for \u201cstubbornness.\u201d)<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tPer the producers, the script\u2019s story begins when a mysterious letter sets a young woman on a perilous journey from famine-ravaged Ireland to 19th century New York, where she joins the ranks of Irish Bridgets creating mayhem in the city.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tPeppiatt\u2019s Kneecap became the most nominated debut in BAFTA history, while also claiming seven British Independent Film Awards, five IFTAs and breakthrough British\/Irish filmmaker at the London Critics Circle.
