There appear to be some changes happening behind the scenes at Kensington Palace. After 15 years, Natasha Archer, executive personal assistant to the Princes and Princess of Wales<\/a>, is stepping down from her role and moving on to new ventures, according to reports.<\/p>\n

Archer is leaving the position to launch her own private consultancy, for which she has already established an Instagram profile<\/a> and her own website<\/a>, where there is a message that promises more is \u201ccoming soon.\u201d At the bottom of the page, there is also an email address for people to send Archer any inquiries they may have.<\/p>\n

The King\u2019s College alum was first hired as the couple\u2019s personal assistant in 2010 \u2013 the same year that they got engaged. Prior to that, she had already established royal connections, because she worked in the office of the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester for three years.<\/p>\n

In 2022, Archer was promoted to the role of senior private executive assistant to the Prince and Princess of Wales. On her LinkedIn<\/a> page, she listed a few of her duties as: clothing, diary, and projects.<\/p>\n

Throughout the years, Archer became a close personal confidante to Kate, and she is credited with helping to curate the princess\u2019s world-class wardrobe, while also encouraging some of her most notable up-cycled looks. Archer has been credited with playing a large part in the “Kate effect”<\/a>, where clothes worn by the Princess of Wales have sparked huge numbers of sales. It is thought that she is responsible for some of her most notable outfits, including the polka dot Jenny Packham dress that Kate wore after giving birth to Prince George; Archer was one of few people to visit Kate in the Lindo Wing, and was photographed arriving with a clothes bag.<\/p>\n

In 2017, Archer married Getty Images photographer Chris Jackson, and the pair currently share two children.<\/p>\n

Just last year, Kate and William hired a new assistant private secretary, and the qualifications required were listed as \u201cexcellent communication and organisational skills,\u201d a \u201cproven ability to build productive relationships with a wide range of individuals and institutions,\u201d and \u201ca strong understanding of Welsh communities, affairs, government, and business.\u201d It was also noted that a candidate who was fluent in Welsh was highly desired.<\/p>\n

One person rumoured to be taking Archer’s place is Virginia Chadwyck-Healey, who reportedly acted as a stylist to Kate during Archer’s maternity leave in 2019. Whether or not this is true remains to be seen but, what is certain is that the Princess of Wales will continue to influence wardrobes everywhere \u2013 intentionally or not.<\/p>\n
