(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ky3.com\/2025\/10\/30\/your-side-recall-alert-generic-cholesterol-medicine-recalled\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.ky3.com\/2025\/10\/30\/your-side-recall-alert-generic-cholesterol-medicine-recalled\/\">KY3<\/a>\/Gray News) &#8211; A drug company has recalled thousands of bottles of its cholesterol medication due to it may not dissolve properly once taken.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.accessdata.fda.gov\/scripts\/ires\/?Event=97639\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.accessdata.fda.gov\/scripts\/ires\/?Event=97639\">U.S. Food and Drug Administration<\/a>, Ascend Laboratories, out of New Jersey, initiated a voluntary recall\u00a0for more than 140,000 bottles of its atorvastatin calcium tablets.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"kptv\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/VADAF72TD5ATBIZ2GCRCTFUY5I.jpeg\" width=\"980\" height=\"653\" \/>FILE &#8211;Generic medical equipment for monitoring heart health. (rancz | ra2 studio &#8211; stock.adobe.com)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The recall includes bottles of the company\u2019s 10 milligram, 20 milligram, 40 milligram and 80 milligram tablets in 90-pill count bottles.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The FDA said this is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/safety\/industry-guidance-recalls\/recalls-background-and-definitions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/safety\/industry-guidance-recalls\/recalls-background-and-definitions\">Class II<\/a> recall, meaning the product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.accessdata.fda.gov\/scripts\/ires\/?Event=97639\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.accessdata.fda.gov\/scripts\/ires\/?Event=97639\">Cleveland Clinic<\/a>, atorvastatin tablets treat high cholesterol, helping those who take them lower their risk of a stroke or heart attack. <\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2025 Gray Local Media, Inc.
