Toshihiro Kikuchi<\/a> (episode director on Vinland Saga<\/a>, Great Pretender<\/a>) is returning from the first season to direct the anime at BONES<\/a> and Nomad<\/a>. Y\u016bdai Hanaoka<\/a> (episode director for The Gorilla God’s Go-To Girl<\/a>) is the assistant director. T\u014dko Machida<\/a> (Lucky Star<\/a>, With You and the Rain<\/a>, Tojima Wants to Be a Kamen Rider<\/a>) is overseeing the series scripts, replacing Kazuyuki Fudeyasu<\/a>. Hiromi Daimi<\/a> (episode animation director on Re:CREATORS<\/a>, Dropkick on My Devil!<\/a>) is returning to design the characters.<\/p>\n Other staff members include:\n<\/p>\n The first season premiered<\/a> in January 2021. Crunchyroll<\/a> streamed<\/a> the series as it aired and also streamed an English dub<\/a>.<\/p>\n The comedy spinoff manga based on Kafka Asagiri<\/a> and Sango Harukawa<\/a>‘s Bung\u014d Stray Dogs manga shows the manga’s characters in SD<\/a> form in comedic gag scenes.<\/p>\n Kanaineko launched<\/a> the manga on Kadokawa’s Young Ace Up<\/a>! manga website in December 2015. The manga currently has 14 volumes.<\/p>\n Kafka Asagiri and Sango Harukawa launched the Bung\u014d Stray Dogs manga in Kadokawa’s Young Ace<\/a> magazine in December 2012, and the series is ongoing. Yen Press<\/a> is publishing<\/a> the manga and novel series in English.<\/p>\n The manga’s first television anime adaptation aired from April to June 2016. The anime’s second 12-episode series aired<\/a> from October to December 2016. The anime’s third<\/a> season premiered<\/a> in April 2019. The anime’s fourth season<\/a> premiered in Japan in January 2023. The anime’s fifth season premiered<\/a> in July 2023, and ended in September 2023. Crunchyroll has streamed all the anime as they aired.<\/p>\n An anime film<\/a> titled<\/a> Bungo Stray Dogs: Dead Apple<\/a> opened in Japan in March 2018.
