Elon Musk, however, offered a terrestrial explanation for the nickel deposits. He stated that many comets and asteroids are “made primarily of nickel,” and that “the places where you mine nickel on Earth is actually where there was an asteroid or comet that hit earth\u2014that was a nickel rich meteorite.”When pressed on the possibility of the object being an alien spacecraft, Musk acknowledged the implications of a nickel-heavy construction. “It would be a very sort of heavy spaceship if you make it all out of nickel,” he said, adding that such a vessel “would like obliterate a continent type of thing\u2014maybe worse.”<\/p>\n
