Kerry garda\u00ed had to be called to the Ballygarry Hotel after a Cork man came abusive to staff, Dingle Court heard last week. <\/p>\n
Before the court on charges arising out of the incident Henry Foott (31) of Newbury, Mallow was charged for possession of cocaine and cannabis at Tralee Garda Station, as well as public intoxication and using threatening abusive language at the hotel on June 27.<\/p>\n
Mr Foott appeared before Judge David Waters at Dingle District Court last Friday, October 24. He pleaded guilty. <\/p>\n
The court heard garda\u00ed were called to Ballygarry House on June 27, where he was \u201cacting in a threatening manner to staff\u201d.<\/p>\n
At the garda station, it was alleged garda\u00ed found cocaine valued at \u20ac40 and marijuana valued at \u20ac5 on his person.<\/p>\n
\u201cOn release from An Garda S\u00edoch\u00e1na, he was very, very apologetic,\u201d said Detective Sergeant Chris Manton.<\/p>\n
Mr Foott had 16 priors, including unlawful possession for sale and supply for which he performed 120 community service hours, the court was told. <\/p>\n
Solicitor Brendan Ahern said Mr Foott was in recovery.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s had a slip, judge. It\u2019s tempting to say he put his foot in it.\u201d<\/p>\n
For Mr Foott, who cuts hedges, it is a busy time of year, noted the solicitor.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s only going in one direction,\u201d warned the judge.<\/p>\n
Judge Waters gave a three-month suspended sentence for the cocaine possession, taking into account the possession of cannabis.<\/p>\n
Additionally, he fined Mr Foott \u20ac350 for threatening or abusive behaviour, taking into account a charge for public intoxication. <\/p>\n
