From a starting point dubbed \u201cThe Hallway,\u201d visitors can explore six different hubs modeled after the most well-known sub-genres: Religion, Science, Slasher, Ghosts, Gothic, and Psychological. Each hub will highlight specific films\u2014like\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gizmodo.com\/how-get-out-inspired-a-new-college-course-on-racism-and-1801027341\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Get Out<\/a>, Ju-On, 1931\u2019s Dracula, and the original <a href=\"https:\/\/gizmodo.com\/barbara-gips-alien-tagline-dead-obituary-2000675504\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Alien<\/a>\u2014and offer behind-the-scenes insight at their production and storytelling. Finally, there\u2019ll be a catalog and public programming that includes film screenings, gallery talks, and even educational tours that\u2019ll get more information at a later date.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThroughout film history, horror has thrilled and moved audiences, acting as a powerful outlet for expression and a tool for social commentary,\u201d said the Academy\u2019s senior exhibitions curator Jessica Niebel. \u201cThrough these stories, people have found catharsis and community among fellow horror fans around the world. I can\u2019t wait for everyone\u2014from horror enthusiasts to the horror-curious\u2014to see\u00a0The Horror Show.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>If all this sounds good to you, there\u2019s a catch: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.academymuseum.org\/en\/exhibitions\/the-horror-show\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Horror Show<\/a>\u00a0won\u2019t actually start until September 20, 2026, and it\u2019ll run through July 25, 2027.
