A U.S. carbon-credit marketing company, a French bank and corporate buyers are looking to invest more than $200 million to support forest-conservation projects throughout the Amazon<\/a> led by indigenous communities.<\/p>\n

New York-based marketer Everland has attracted letters of intent worth $160 million to support the forestry projects, it announced on Saturday. The offers are backed by a $50 million outcome bond from BNP Paribas<\/a> that will provide upfront funding to up to 20 projects looking to get under way.<\/p>\n
