According to a source, the singer-songwriter, 41, and the former Canadian prime minister, 53, are \u201cin the honeymoon phase<\/a>\u201d and \u201cTrudeau is being incredibly attentive and doing everything to help Perry turn the page on the difficult last few years.\u201d<\/p>\n

The source tells Star that \u201cthe people close to Perry are rooting for this relationship,\u201d noting her \u201ctight-knit circle of friends and collaborators see the change Trudeau has managed to create in her life in a very short span of time.\u201d<\/p>\n

The former American Idol judge \u2014 who split from her fianc\u00e9, Orlando Bloom<\/strong>, in June \u2014 \u201cwas in a pretty dark place\u201d about a year ago, says the source, and \u201cTrudeau has become this ray of sunshine in her life in an undeniable way.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, the source points out the couple \u201cstill have a long way to go,\u201d explaining the Grammy-nominated artist \u201chas a pragmatic side when it comes to relationships, especially when she\u2019s with somebody who is as famous as she is.\u201d<\/p>\n
