{"id":162302,"date":"2025-11-04T12:53:07","date_gmt":"2025-11-04T12:53:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/162302\/"},"modified":"2025-11-04T12:53:07","modified_gmt":"2025-11-04T12:53:07","slug":"allianz-insurance-dublin-headquarters-vandalised-by-pro-palestine-group-the-irish-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/162302\/","title":{"rendered":"Allianz insurance Dublin headquarters vandalised by pro-Palestine group \u2013 The Irish Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The Irish headquarters of the insurance company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/allianz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/allianz\/\">Allianz<\/a> was vandalised in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/dublin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/dublin\/\">Dublin<\/a> overnight.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">A number of windows were broken and red graffiti sprayed at the office buildings at Elm Park in Dublin 4.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">A pro-<a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/palestine\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/palestine\/\">Palestinian<\/a> group, Palestinian Action \u00c9ire, has claimed responsibility.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The group said it opposes the insurance company\u2019s alleged relationship with an Israeli weapon manufacturer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">In a statement, it said it promises \u201cto continue to target Allianz until the company drops Elbit Systems\u201d as part of its \u201cbroader goal of shutting down the weapons manufacturer\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \"> Allianz Ireland said it has no relationship with Elbit. \u201cContrary to online commentary and media reporting in Ireland, Allianz plc can confirm that it has no commercial relationship of any kind with Elbit Systems,\u201d it said in a statement. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Earlier, the company said the Garda is investigating an attack at its offices in Dublin \u201cin which a group of people in balaclavas and black combat style clothing and armed with a variety of implements attempted to gain entry to the building by smashing windows and doors.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">\u201cAllianz employees and contractors in the building at the time alerted garda\u00ed and secured themselves in a safe location in the building as part of our security procedures. The attackers also daubed red paint on the building before leaving.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">\u201cOur first priority is for the safety and wellbeing of our employees and contractors, particularly those who were in the building when this attack occurred. We are working with them to ensure they are getting our fullest support in the face of what was a frightening ordeal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/an-garda-siochana\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/an-garda-siochana\/\">Garda\u00ed<\/a> said they attended a reported incident of criminal damage at the premises at about 2.50am.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">\u201cThe scene has been preserved for technical examination,\u201d a Garda spokesman said. \u201cInvestigations are ongoing.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Irish headquarters of the insurance company Allianz was vandalised in Dublin overnight.
