Romy<\/a> has shared her touching new single, \u2018Love Who You Love\u2019 \u2013\u00a0listen to it here.<\/p>\n

The singer has described it as a \u201cproudly queer love song\u201d, while it also serves as a closing chapter to her 2023 debut solo album \u2018Mid Air\u2019<\/a> \u2013 the song has been \u201cin her care\u201d since 2020.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wanted to write a song that not only celebrates and uplifts love as well as calls for change,\u201d she explained. \u201cThe history of resilience and togetherness in the face of unbelievable challenges within the community is so powerful. Personally, finding friends, family and people I look up to and learn from through queer clubbing has made me feel so much less alone and braver in so many aspects of life.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese experiences and the people I\u2019ve met, continue to be so inspiring to the music I\u2019m making and this song intends to be a love letter of visibility and pride. No one can take the love you feel away from you \u2013 it\u2019s yours.\u201d<\/p>\n

She also shared a video, which is directed by her creative and life partner Vic Lentaigne, for the track. Check it out here:<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, Romy released an EP, \u2018Mid Air (Transcendence Remixes)\u2019 EP which featured reworked tracks from the album of the same name. And last year, she shared a range of standalone singles including high-profile collaborations with Sampha<\/a> and Jessie Ware<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Also last year, she teamed up with Jamie xx and Oliver Sim, her bandmates in The xx, on the former\u2019s single<\/a> \u2018Waited All Night\u2019, which they performed on stage together in June<\/a> during Jamie<\/a>\u2019s LIDO Festival headline set.<\/p>\n

The xx<\/a> are currently working on new music together, too. Their last album was 2017\u2019s \u2018I See You\u2019<\/a>, but they were pictured in the studio together in March this year<\/a>, months after Jamie said they were \u201chaving a good time\u201d working on things<\/a>.<\/p>\n
