Amorim has enjoyed a slight upturn in form of late, winning three Premier League games in a row for the first time under the Portuguese before a 2-2 draw with struggling Nottingham Forest hampered their momentum.<\/p>\n

But Ronaldo has little hope that Amorim will be able to restore United to their former glories, despite commending his counterpart’s efforts in the dugout.<\/p>\n

Amorim last season oversaw United’s worst ever Premier League campaign as they finished 15th and missed out on European football entirely.<\/p>\n

Ronaldo feels United are missing a \u201cbase for the future\u201d, pointing towards the \u2018Class of \u201892\u2019 who helped establish United as English football’s biggest force under former manager Alex Ferguson.<\/p>\n

There has been a focus on signing younger talent since Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos took control of day to day football operations at the club and overhauled the recruitment department.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor me, I\u2019m sad because of the club, that’s one of the most important clubs in the world, and a club that I still have in my heart because of the obvious reasons,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n

Cristiano Ronaldo recently agreed a new two-year deal with Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr worth well over \u20ac500m<\/p>\n
