Fawlty Towers actor John Cleese, best known for playing hotel manager Basil Fawlty in the classic British sitcom, has paid tribute to his on-screen wife Prunella Scales on the BBC Breakfast sofa.<\/p>\n

Cleese said Scales was “very nice and very English”, before joking that she was always apologising for everything.<\/p>\n

The actress died at her home in London<\/a> at the age of 93, after being diagnosed with vascular dementia.<\/p>\n
