A major gun seizure has been made by garda\u00ed in a Cork suburb today, Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Firearms, ammunition, and explosives were discovered at a house in Douglas on the city’s southside.<\/p>\n
The seizure came after a man was stopped in a car by garda\u00ed and was found with guns and ammunition in North Cork on Tuesday.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Cocaine, three guns and ammunition were found in the car when it was stopped by garda\u00ed at Lisanisky, Mallow on Tuesday night.<\/p>\n
The car had been “acting suspiciously”, garda\u00ed said. <\/p>\n
The house in Douglas which was subsequently searched was described as a “gun-making factory” by garda\u00ed, according to a report on All About Cork.<\/p>\n
A man has been arrested and is being questioned by garda\u00ed.<\/p>\n
A man in his 40s had been stopped by garda\u00ed on the outskirts of Mallow in North Cork after 10pm on Tuesday night.<\/p>\n
Multiple guns were found in his vehicle.<\/p>\n
He was arrested under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act and can be held for up to 72 hours.<\/p>\n
The man, who is originally from Cork City, is currently being questioned in Mallow Garda station. <\/p>\n
