The list was discussed at a parliamentary party meeting on Wednesday night. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">According to those present at the meeting in Leinster House, the most outspoken contribution was made by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/kilkenny\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/kilkenny\/\">Kilkenny<\/a> TD Peter \u201cChap\u201d Cleere.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">In an impassioned contribution, the former Kilkenny hurler said it was \u201csad\u201d to be called a rebel by Fianna F\u00e1il as he was from Kilkenny, considered a core party constituency. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">\u201cYou would swear Chap was in the dressingroom at half time in the All-Ireland final,\u201d another TD present at the meeting said afterwards. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The matter was raised at the meeting by Cork East TD James O\u2019Connor, another of the 13 or so parliamentary members who were on the list. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">It was drawn up by an adviser to a Fianna F\u00e1il Minister, whose identity remains unknown, and circulated among party TDs and Senators last week. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Those included were put into two categories: \u201crebels\u201d and \u201cold guard\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Former ceann comhairle <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/sean-o-fearghail\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/sean-o-fearghail\/\">Se\u00e1n \u00d3 Feargha\u00edl<\/a> told the meeting he did not \u201ctake too kindly\u201d to being described as the old guard, given that he was the same age as Taoiseach <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/micheal-martin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/micheal-martin\/\">Miche\u00e1l Martin<\/a> and both would be entitled to the free bus pass next year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Others who spoke were Cork North Central TD P\u00e1draig O\u2019Sullivan and Louth TD Erin McGreehan.
