One man has been arrested after garda\u00ed discovered a quantity of guns, explosives, and ammunition at a house in Douglas yesterday evening.<\/p>\n
The seizure came after a man was stopped in a car by garda\u00ed and was found with guns and ammunition in North Cork on Tuesday night.<\/p>\n
Cocaine, three guns, and ammunition were found in the car when it was stopped by garda\u00ed at Lisanisky, Mallow, after 10pm on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Garda\u00ed discovered firearms, ammunition, and explosives at a house in Douglas yesterday evening.<\/p>\n
The army explosive ordnance disposal unit was in attendance at the house to assist with the search.<\/p>\n
A man was arrested and was being questioned by garda\u00ed.<\/p>\n

Late on Tuesday night, members of An Garda S\u00edoch\u00e1na observed the vehicle \u201cacting suspiciously\u201d while they were on duty in the Lissanisky area along the Mallow Rd.<\/p>\n
A Garda spokesperson told The Echo that following this observation, the driver was stopped, and a subsequent search of the vehicle took place.<\/p>\n
As a result of the search, garda\u00ed discovered and seized a quantity of cocaine, along with three suspected firearms and ammunition.<\/p>\n
The driver of the vehicle, a man in his 40s, was arrested and taken to a garda station in Cork. The man, who is originally from Cork City, was detained under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939.<\/p>\n
He can be held for up to 72 hours.<\/p>\n
